The Solarize Process

Sign up for free solar and energy assessments.

Go to our Solarize registration Our pre-qualified solar contractor will contact you to size up your roof, explain the details of solar installation, and answer any questions you have about going solar. You will also be contacted about scheduling a separate free home energy evaluation.

Leverage the Solarize pricing and federal tax credit

Please note that the 30% federal tax incentive is realized when you file your taxes and not at the time of purchase.

Install panels

Through a comprehensive and competitive bidding process, we selected a local and qualified solar installer. Your contractor will make a site visit to gather all the information necessary, obtain all necessary permits, order materials and equipment, and schedule your installation.

Generate electricity

Once your system is up and running, you use electricity as it is generated. Through "net energy metering," you get a one-to-one, kilowatt hour-for-kilowatt hour credit on your bill for every unit of electricity produced and put back on the electric grid.

Start saving on utility bills

While buying a solar PV system may require an upfront payment, it can deliver significant energy cost savings for years. By combining utility net metering credits for the power you generate, federal tax incentives and low-interest financing, you could realize long-term cost savings over the life of your solar PV system. The more electricity prices rise, the faster you'll see savings.
